Callaway Elite Irons: Enhanced Performance and Innovation Review

In the thrilling world of golf equipment, Callaway introduces the new Elite irons, including the standard Elite and the Elite X models. These clubs are designed to enhance performance, particularly for off-centered hits. The technology behind these irons includes a new speed frame, AI 10 times face, and a unique triole for improved turf interaction. Priced at £1,169 for a pitching wedge, these irons promise exceptional speed, feel, and sound on the course.
The Elite X model stands out with a slightly stronger 28° loft for the 7 iron, along with a larger profile, increased offset, and a thicker sole and top line. While both sets deliver solid performance, there are noticeable differences in sound and feel between the Elite and Elite X. The Elite 7 iron carries an average of 176 yards with a spin rate of over 5,000 RPM, while the Elite X 7 iron offers an eight-yard longer distance with a slightly lower spin rate. The Elite X pitching wedge goes 148 yards, outperforming the Elite by seven yards.
Overall, the Elite irons impress with their performance and technology, resembling the popular p790 in terms of feel and sound. However, the Elite X models, with their wider sole and thicker top line, offer a unique experience on the course. Despite potential concerns about the Elite X getting lost among the Elite branding, these clubs showcase innovation and quality in the competitive world of golf equipment. Stay tuned for more exciting updates and reviews from H.I.T GOLF!
